What You Need to Know About Travel to Europe
Have you ever wondered if it is possible to travel to Europe? If so, then you’ve certainly come to the right place. It’s very possible to travel to Europe legally by using the many different methods that are available to travelers today. However, before we take a look at the different methods of traveling to Europe, let’s first discuss why people want to travel to Europe in the first place. Simply put, Europe is one of the most beautiful places on earth and there is no better way to enjoy the beauty of this continent than by traveling there.
Remember, just because the U.S. states that it is okay for you to travel to Europe as long as you are staying within a Schengen state doesn’t mean that all of the Schengen countries are going to allow you to travel to Europe legally. In order to be able to legally travel to Europe, you have to secure travel documentation from your home country or another country that is recognized as a safe destination. As a general rule, Americans can’t travel to any non-Schengen country without first going through either an American Consulate or embassy. Some countries do have more lenient visa requirements, however, including some European countries.
For citizens of the United States, an easier way to travel to Europe would be to apply for a europe visa waiver. A visa waiver is a type of non-immigrant visa that allows citizens of the United States to travel to one or several countries in Europe for a specified period of time. A typical visa waiver application is available for citizens of the United States who plan to travel to, or return to, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, France, or Italy between June 2021 and February 2021. In order to qualify for a visa waiver, an American citizen or a legal resident alien must be aged eighteen years old or older, be in good standing with the United States Department of Homeland Security, and have an open permanent residence in a Schengen state between June 2021 and February 2021. The applicant must also present proof of a job offer from a national employer who plans to hire at least seventy-five percent of the applicants’ potential new employees during the approved timeframe.
Proof of citizenship is required for many Europeans traveling to the United States. Because of this, many Europeans prefer applying for a visa over waiting to apply for a passport, which takes much longer. Some people choose to apply for both a visa and passport so that they have proof of citizenship and can travel throughout the EU freely. However, there are some instances where an American cannot apply for either a visa or a passport because they reside outside of the United States. In these cases, they may apply for a visa and then bring their passport when traveling back to the United States.
If an individual traveling to Europe does not have a medical condition that would require a trip to the Schengen area, the traveler may still be subject to a vaccination requirement. A negative covid test results in an inability to enter the United States or Canada if the individual has ever been advised to avoid travel to certain areas. For example, those who have received a letter of travel advisory from the State Department or similar travel advisories are required to obtain a vaccination against rabies. If an unvaccinated traveler picks up any domestic cats or puppies while traveling to Europe, they will have to obtain a rabies vaccination upon arrival at the designated point of entry.
Citizens of American nationality who are travelling to Europe may not need to obtain a visa if they are carrying only one green card or an unexpired visa. Citizens of certain nations like Germany, Austria, and Switzerland do not need to apply for entry visa but may still be required to show photo identification. There are exceptions to these stipulations and every individual should review their particular situation. Certain countries, like Australia and New Zealand, do not require travelers to apply for visas.
Once an individual has all of their visa requirements with which to enter the United States or Canada, they will need to consider how to enter those countries. Some travellers may feel comfortable applying at a local airport as long as they have an access point in a foreign country, such as a hotel or a bus terminal. If a traveller plans to travel between continents, they should consider how they can enter each country first and then choose the quickest method for travel. In some cases, a person may not be able to enter a country until they have obtained an exit visa. The same is true for travelling between european countries.
Travelling between the United States and Canada requires an international flight, a passport, and a reservation of non-refundable tickets. A traveller may need a visa in order to board a plane, so obtaining a passport and visa waiver card is a requirement if travelling outside of the United States or Canada. The third requirement is a Canadian temporary resident card. The card allows a tourist to stay in Canada for three months or more, without a visa. Visitors need to apply for a three months pass before departure.
