USA Travel Guide
The United States is an exceptionally diverse country of 50 States covering an enormous swath of North America, including a large section of the Pacific Ocean, with Alaska in the far west and Hawaii stretching the country’s influence to the ocean. Major Midwestern metropolises are New York, an international culture and finance center, and national capital Washington, D.C. On the east coast, Los Angeles is famous for its flourishing entertainment industry and New York’s Hollywood, the film capital, is legendary for producing films by some of the world’s top actors and actresses.
In addition, there are numerous travel guides covering the major cities of each state and territory. These guides generally cover all major cities, but sometimes only the larger cities (i.e., Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle). Each of these guides typically cover the major tourist areas, as well as the state’s major attractions. This is important since not all travelers visit these places at once, so information on local attractions or history may be important.
However, while there are many books, magazines, newspapers and websites that provide general information about the US, not all of them cover the entire country or even all of its states. The following are a few reliable sources of information on the United States:
A travel guide is usually the first source you turn to if you are planning a trip to the United States. Although these guides are not exhaustive, they give you enough information to get you started and then help you navigate to make your journey much more enjoyable. There are also other sources of information for travelers.
The Internet provides many resources for travel planning. For example, there are blogs and forums in every state, as well as national tourism sites, such as the United States National Park Service (NPS) website. These sites, along with other travel-related directories, have links to resources that you can use when planning a trip.
As previously mentioned, many travel guides offer information about travel within the State, rather than nationwide. This is particularly useful if you’re traveling from a smaller area to a larger one. Also, these types of guides often offer information about what to do in between trips, as well as advice on where to go once you’re in the States.
State-run agencies offer online resources as well. These include state and regional parks, historical sites, museums, historical buildings, museums and historic landmarks, as well as parks and recreational opportunities. If you live in a smaller region and want to learn more about local history, there are even web sites that focus on a specific county.
Other resources include publications such as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the United States Department of Transportation, the American Association of Retired Persons, National Park Service, and the National Park Service. These organizations publish publications that have information about the various states and territories.
The National Parks Service publishes its own website as well. It has sections about some of the most popular parks, including Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. It also provides information on park activities, lodging, picnic areas, and even information on how to book your next vacation in the Park Service!
The United States Department of Transportation publishes a number of resources for travelers. Some of these include: travel maps, which help you plan your journey, as well as other travel information, such as maps for all the major highways in the country, maps showing various modes of transportation, and travel tips.
There are also travel websites, such as America Sights, which provides information about hotels, restaurants, sight seeing locations, car rental services, flight information and a number of other travel services. These websites have listings for hotels, cruise packages, car rentals and flight rates, and even travel information. One thing to keep in mind when looking for travel websites is that many of these companies charge extra for international calls. This extra fee may be worth it if you are traveling to an area where the cost of using a cell phone is expensive.
Finally, you can also check in with the United States National Park Service to get information about parks and other areas that are located within the park system. The National Park Service maintains a number of sites on the Internet, as well as a toll-free number you can call to get emergency information.
