In general, you can travel to Canada without any problems, though there are still some precautions you should take. You’ll want to make sure you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if you plan to visit Canada. There are two doses of the vaccine accepted for travel, the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and you must not be showing any signs of COVID-19. Proof of vaccination must be certified or translated in French or English.

Vaccinations for children and young adults are required before travelling to Canada, although a day-of-travel test is no longer required. Those under five who have not been vaccinated are still required to take the testing. Unvaccinated children must undergo a 14-day quarantine and travel restrictions for at least 72 hours before their scheduled flight. Those under age 18 who are not vaccinated should avoid contact with children and limit the time they spend with others.

Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention do not recommend travel to Canada, the Canadian government has designated it as a country with a high incidence of the viral infection Covid-19. Therefore, travelers from the U.S. are allowed to visit Canada for leisure purposes, provided they meet certain requirements. These requirements are not as strict as in other countries. You can learn more about travel restrictions to Canada by visiting the Canadian government’s website.

Foreign nationals can enter Canada for discretionary and tourism purposes if they are fully vaccinated. They must wear a mask during their flight and in the airport terminal. Proof of vaccination must be provided by a medical certificate. If you do not possess a vaccine certificate, you may be denied entry to Canada. There are some exceptions, however, including the requirement to wear a face mask and medical certificate. You may also be required to wear a mask while waiting for the results.
