To pack your suitcase for Spain, it's essential to think about your itinerary. Your travel schedule, destination, and planned activities will all influence what you need to bring. Consider these factors before packing:

Before you prepare for your exciting trip to Spain, answer a few essential questions.

How many days are allocated for this special adventure into Spanish splendour,
what season/time of year will travel take place in order to ensure optimal packing choices based on climate requirements across different parts of Spain (for instance Northern versus Southern)?
Packing for a trip to the Canary Islands will differ significantly from packing for a city break in Barcelona or a road trip through Andalusia.  Lastly; consider planned activities during the stay – investing in suitable gear such as hiking supplies or snorkeling equipment may go along way when exploring unique Spanish destinations. What to wear in Spain in summer

When visiting Spain in the summertime, it's important to be mindful of temperatures that can range dramatically depending on your location. From Bilbao up north reaching a comfortable temperature of 66°F (18°C), to Madrid and Barcelona with highs around 73-75°F (23-24 °C). In Andalusia though, you'll want to prepare for much higher intensity heat at 103ËšF (39 ËšC)! Pack accordingly so you're ready wherever your travels take you!
Clothing items:
Two strap tops:Although the Spanish sun can be delightful, you'll want to stay cool and comfortable in lightweight clothing. Pack a couple of spaghetti strap tops for those hottest days – with their thin fabric they’ll help you breeze through your holiday!

Three tank tops:when you want to stay comfortable and stylish, even on cloudy days. They offer an effortless way to look good without revealing too much skin - so don't be afraid of choosing practicality!

Three t-shirts: when you want to stay comfortable and stylish, even on cloudy days. They offer an effortless way to look good without revealing too much skin - so don't be afraid of choosing practicality!

T-shirts are also good for cloudy days or if you feel uncomfortable showing any more skin.

Two dressy tops: Bring a couple of nice tops for your evenings out.

One dress: I like to wear a dress to keep cool in the summer months.

Two bikinis: If you plan on hitting up the Spanish beaches or islands, you’ll want to bring some swimwear with you!

One pair of denim shorts and a pair of bike shorts: I give myself two options, bringing some denim shorts and a pair of longer bike shorts.

One outfit to keep you warm: If you're headed somewhere cool this winter or planning a beachfront getaway, make sure your suitcase includes cozy layers. Jeans and a fleece should do the trick for those chillier evenings – just throw in an extra light jacket to keep warm after sundown!

Enough underwear for the length of the trip: For a one-week journey, two bras, five pairs of socks and seven pieces of underwear should suffice; if the trip is longer though you may want to bring along some laundry essentials like detergent or special stain removers so that any extra clothes can be washed in sinks for convenience!

SHOES

Flip-flops:  When exploring Spanish towns in the evening or going to a beach, flip-flops are the go-to choice for both comfort and style. Just remember that when you want to fit into your local surroundings, it's best not to wear them on more formal occasions as they aren't part of locals' everyday look!

Walking shoes: If you're looking for a reliable pair of walking shoes, Merrell has got what you need! This brand was put to the test when I hiked part of the Camino de Santiago. Despite covering hundreds of kilometers in these shoes, my feet remained comfortable and sturdy all throughout - now that's impressive!

Something for dressing up: If you're looking to dress up in style while on vacation in Spain, why not opt for low-top sneakers with a hint of pastel? Not only will they make the perfect high-end restaurant accompaniment, but their extra grip is great for navigating streets.

Spain in the summer is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. From sunny hikes through majestic Picos de Europa National Park to exploring Bilbao’s ancient architecture and strolling along Costa Brava's picturesque coastal villages, there are no shortage of activities that offer breathtaking sights and experiences. Don't forget your sunscreen though - light clothing will keep you cool while sun protection can help ensure a fun-filled vacation!

ACCESSORIES

Sunglasses:  In Spain, there’s a hell of a lot of sunny days each year, so you’re probably going to be wearing sunglasses, no matter which time of year you visit.
Quick-dry travel towel: This is one of my travel essentials!
Dry bag: If you’re going to be hanging out on the beaches, I highly recommend packing a dry bag to take with you.
