Do you have plans of visiting Europe? Are you looking for some tips on how to budget your trip so that it will be cheap? Well, there are different ways to travel Europe for cheap. It’s not impossible to travel in Europe for as little as 1 hr 40 mins. In this article, I am going to show you some of the ways on how to travel Europe for dirt cheap.
When planning to go to Europe, it is best to have at least a basic knowledge of how to read a map. Most Americans traveling to Europe usually bring a map with them because they know that Europeans usually use the Euro to get to other countries. Hence, a euro is what the passport of a European is named after. Most Americans get their passport through the European passport office in Washington, DC. If you don’t have an American passport, you can apply for one at the embassy of the country you are traveling to. In addition to that, you can also get a europe visa waiver from the embassy.
Visas may be easier for you to get if you are traveling to some countries of the European Union. For example, British citizens do not need any visa to enter Germany, Denmark or Sweden. There is also no age limit for getting a visa to any country in the European Union. However, some countries do have restrictions when it comes to traveling to europe. Let’s take a closer look on these restrictions:
Citizens of the European Union can enter other European countries’ territory without obtaining a passport through the Europe visa waiver program. This exception was created in 2021 to facilitate travel among European Union citizens who otherwise face difficulties in getting a normal passport. However, a passport is required by law for citizens of some countries including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Passport is required for citizens of all countries except the ones mentioned above.
If you are traveling from the states with less restrictive entry requirements ( Wyoming, Vermont, New Hampshire or Massachusetts) you will not face any restriction when it comes to traveling to europe. Some people have problems in procuring a visa to travel to europe because they don’t meet the minimum age requirement, don’t reside in the states that require a visa, or lack a valid passport. However, this problem is usually addressed by checking the nearest embassy or consulate to provide you with assistance. Your consuls can also help you obtain a temporary visa if you meet their guidelines. Most of the time, your consuls will be able to help you arrange an accommodation for up to 3 weeks if necessary.
In most of the cases, most of the people who travel to european countries do so as part of a school tour. School groups usually organize group stays in hotels or guest houses in order to save money on costs incurred during the trip. Many times, the hotel/ Guest house will charge the participants a reasonable rate which includes breakfast. This is one of the reasons why many students choose to travel on a budget. In the case of non educational group travels, most of the students prefer staying in private rental accommodations instead of hotels.
As for the US citizens, if you are a student, you may face Eurostar reservations. This means that you will have to book your ticket in advance in order to avoid a hold up in getting a traveling visa. For other travelers, Eurostar trains are the best way to travel to european countries. The train ride is actually the same as that of the Eurostar. However, you will have to make the journey in summer, when the trains are less crowded and you can get an early boarding ticket for cheap flights to europe.
With regards to the destination of your stay, there are numerous places that we US visitors will be interested in seeing. Some of these destinations include Berlin, London, Rome, Florence, Paris, Vienna, Prague and St. Petersburg in Russia. Some of the cities mentioned above are quite popular among American tourists and many spend a lot of money only to see them in a regular basis. On the other hand, there are some Euro traveling that we tourists do not bother to see. This is because they would rather focus their energies on exploring the various cultures, landscapes, and history of those European countries.
